Biography
Dr. Suresh Tikoo is the Program Manager for Vectored Vaccine research team at VIDO-InterVac. He received his DVM and MVSc in India and completed his PhD in Veterinary Microbiology at the University of Saskatchewan in 1992.
Dr. Tikoo and his team have been carrying out the molecular characterization of non-human adenoviruses (bovine adenovirus-3 and porcine adenovirus-3), with the aim of developing them as live vaccine vectors for animals (cattle and swine) and humans. He also has published more than 86 peer-reviewed manuscripts and review articles, 25 issued patents and 7 pending patents. and has mentored 25 graduate students and post-doctoral fellows.
At the University of Saskatchewan, Dr. Tikoo is a tenured Professor at the School of Public Health, and. an Adjunct Professor at the Department of Veterinary Microbiology, Western college of Veterinary Medicine.
