Biography

Luana was born in Pelotas, south of Brazil. She attended the Federal University of Pelotas, where she completed her Bachelor degree in Biological Sciences in 2005, her Masters degree in 2008 and is presently working on her Ph.D on a BoHV-5 vaccine development project.

At end of 2010 she was awarded within a Scholarship for Split Fellowship Program from a governmental Brazilian Institution, CNPq, which gave her the opportunity to work for one year under the supervision of Dr. Sylvia van den Hurk.
