Postdoctoral Fellow Positions
The Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization, a research institute at the University of Saskatchewan, is seeking Postdoctoral Fellows to work in a variety of projects focused on mechanisms of pathogenesis, immunomodulation, genomics, vaccine development and vaccine formulation and delivery.
VIDO’s research activities are focused on multidisciplinary approaches to the control of infectious diseases in animals and humans through the development of novel vaccines and therapeutics plus methods for their use. The Organization provides a stimulating collaborative environment in a variety of disciplines, including molecular microbiology, immunology, genomics and proteomics, cell biology and clinical research.
Positions are available in a number of different areas, including the pathogenesis of SARS and hepatitis C virus infection, herpesvirus, influenza, parainfluenza, food and water safety (enterohemorrhagic E. coli, Salmonella and Campylobacter), neonatal immunity, vaccine formulation and delivery, and finally the development of platform vaccine technologies (vectored vaccines, nucleic acid immunization).
The successful candidates must have a PhD in an appropriate discipline, will be expected to work in a team-based research environment and subscribe to VIDO’s philosophy of high quality research of relevance to the end user.
All positions have flexible start dates and are guaranteed for a term of up to 2 years.
